The Schuman Family

October 30, 2007

Joan Schuman was given this photo shoot as a special birthday present from some dear friends of hers…and we used it to document one of the rare occasions when both her sons and their partners were in town. We had a nice, relaxing time down at the beach alternating between candid moments and more formal family portraits.  Here is a sampling of some of my favorite moments…

Amy & Dave

October 19, 2007

Here are a few shots from Amy & Dave’s engagement photography session….part one.  Since Amy is in marketing & design and really appreciates photography, we thought it would be fun to take the concept of “multiple locations” to a new level: We are going to shoot a new location for each distinct season….and Dave is along for the ride. 🙂 We had originally planned to do our fall shoot outside by some gorgeous red leaves, but given the torrential downpour that was happening at the time; we opted to stay dry & cozy inside a coffee shop instead.  I love the way they turned out…the colors are gorgeous Thanks to the staff at Bean Around the World for letting us stay & play.  Stay tuned for part two….

Anne & Lorne’s Wedding

October 3, 2007

I was given the gift of photographing Anne & Lorne’s beautiful little family when their son was only six months old. It was an absolute honor to be there on their wedding day almost four years later to document the formalization of their love for to each other in front of all their family and friends. I was completely humbled by the amount of tender loving care that went into every little detail and how personal they had made each part of their ceremony. Anne & Lorne were very sentimental and as a photographer it was wonderful to have so many visuals to incorporate into their portraits. The symbol of the Labyrinth was very important to Anne for many reasons, but at its most basic level, one can say that “we are all on the path…exactly where we need to be. The labyrinth is a model of that path.”  I thought that was a beautiful sentiment and I am so glad that we found this one to use on their wedding day.  I love it when I can turn someone’s wedding photos into true portraits, not just pretty pictures.
