Jason & Diana’s Wedding

July 23, 2007

I have a small confession to make….I cry at just about every wedding I photograph, but I don’t think I have ever cried as much as I did shooting Jason and Dee’s Wedding on July 14th! Just to witness the depth of love and respect these two individuals had for each other was an absolute honour. To photograph it….was an experience of a lifetime.

Not only was this wedding party ridiculously good-looking and fun, but they were also up for just about anything! We went on a big photographic adventure running all over Vancouver and there were so many great shots I had a really hard time deciding which photos to post.  However,  I believe my favourites are definitely the ones we shot in an alley downtown, playing on the whole Italian Mob theme….Jason is being adopted  into a large Italian family, just as much as Diana is marrying into the Elligott clan.  We needed to make him look more authentic. *grin*

Jennifer & Greg’s Wedding

July 20, 2007

Jennifer & Greg’s wedding was a beautiful back yard affair of understated elegance.  It was very low key, but absolutely stunning at the same time and suited this easy-going couple perfectly.

We decided to take the bridal portraits before their ceremony so that Jennifer & Greg could just go straight into the celebrations…..and this is the first moment they saw each other. Their mothers were in tears within seconds and pretty soon I was crying too!

Greg’s mother is an amazing gardener and had the entire venue saturated with vibrant flowers….gorgeous!

Neda & Nik

July 17, 2007

Despite modest claims of shyness, these two were absolute rock stars in front of the camera! I had so much fun photographing & getting to know Neda & Nik…I can’t wait for the wedding!

Jenny & Peter’s Wedding

July 4, 2007

Jenny & Peter’s wedding was actually my first of the season and they were the most wonderful couple to start things off; I don’t think I have ever seen a couple so excited to be getting married! They were both grinning like kids on Christmas morning all day…and I mean ALL DAY! I tend to be an extremely smiley person, but these two put me to shame.

The weather was all over the map that Saturday…a couple of times we were caught off guard by sudden showers, but by the time we got our umbrellas up, it was literally sunny again! We all laughed about how crazy it was and just rolled with the punches. They had such as amazing attitude about things…no matter what happened they were there to enjoy the moment and let things happen the way they needed to happen. It’s the best way to be. I felt so privileged to be a part of it, and came home completely energized after being around so much love and good vibes.

Megan & Andrew’s Wedding

July 4, 2007

This wedding was hands down the most exciting wedding I think I’ve ever shot. From the thunder & lightning during the outdoor ceremony, to the breakdancers punctuating the speeches by flying in doing back flips… this event was non-stop! There will never be another one like it! I had an absolute blast taking photos that day!

Jenn & Owen’s Wedding

July 3, 2007

Jenn & Owen’ s wedding was such an elegantly casual day…I loved it! I find that the most successful weddings are the ones where the couple is really in tune with who they are and what’s important to them. That was definitely the case with these two country-music lovers who decided to use Brew Creek Lodge for their entire day. Everything happened in such a smooth, seamless way…..right down to the weather……when the sun came out from behind the clouds to shine down on their vows. Jen and her husband Owen are both so easy-going, relaxed, confident, and quick to laugh: It was an absolute dream to follow these two around!

The Brew Creek Lodge property was gorgeous, but Jenn, Owen & I decided to escape all of the excitement for just a little while and found this beautiful little bluff just off from the sea-to-sky highway. I found this hidden treasure when I was location scouting the week before…and it turned out to be even more stunning than I had originally thought! I think Jenn & Owen really appreciated the chance to just be alone for a few minutes and really soak up the moment.
