Well, after a long hiatus from blogging…..I am finally back in full force! My assistant Mark and I had the fantastic opportunity of shooting a winter wedding in Lake Louise. The scenery was spectacular and the weather was brilliantly sunny but incredibly cold! I am so grateful that almost everyone at the wedding had flown out from the Maritimes and were used to below freezing temperatures, because even though my cameras were seizing, everyone else seemed to be perfectly happy. Louise and Tyler celebrated their wedding with a great group of family and friends! Mark and I were so glad to be a part of it all.

Louise & Tyler are amazing individuals and to see what they have created as a couple was simply magic. Tyler distributes lobster around the world, and is so good and committed to what he does, that he had a lobster embroidered into his suit sleeve, has a tattoo on his arm, and had his wife-to-be design a lobster on his tie! Louise is not only a wonderful mother, but also the owner of a design company “For Art Productions Inc,” and was able to turn her wedding day into an opportunity to create as many art pieces as possible. She designed her own family logo and collaborated with the fabulous Kathryn Bass from “Pure Something” Dress co. to create her one of a kind wedding dress covered in poetry and artwork. Please feel free to check out these two women’s work: www.puresomething.com and www.ForArtProductions.com. All this love & attention to detail made their wedding and incredible experience for everyone involved.

Alexa & Lance had an incredible Fall Wedding, held almost entirely at the Sutton Place hotel and orchestrated by the fabulous Tanya Peters at Milestone Weddings, so I knew it was going to be an amazing day. I wasn’t however; prepared for how good of a party it was going to be! We escaped to Stanley Park for a few intimate portraits, but Alexa & Lance couldn’t wait to get back to their reception to celebrate with their guests. It soon became apparent why; everyone single person there, no matter the age or the background were all dancing, laughing, and having a big-ol’ time. They wanted to be a part of every moment…and my assistant Mark and I were right there with them!

Allison & Erin’s Wedding was spectacular feast for the eyes from start to finish! I was blown away by Allison’s impeccable taste, attention to detail, and then her ability to just let go, savor the moment, and enjoy her wedding day with her new husband Erin. We all had a fantastic time riding around Vancouver in a red trolley…laughing, taking photos, and drinking champagne. What an amazing way to spend the day! Allison and Erin definitely know how to have fun and celebrate life.

Allison & Erin’s wedding reception was held at the Terminal City Club and decorated by the fabulous Tanya Peters from Milestone Events…and while I knew the room was going to look good, I was not prepared for it to take my breath away. The stunning decor, combined with great food, beautiful speeches, and an excellent live band, made for an unforgettable evening. Even after shooting for 13 hours, my assistant and I were still full of energy and stayed for a while longer to kick up our heels.

Here it is… Amber & Tyler’s Wedding in all it’s glory! I think I set a personal record this time with the sheer number of photos posted. I could not hold back! This wedding was such an adventure and amazing experience for me…I was blown away by the wild, unusual beauty of BC’s interior. I swear, every where I looked, there were stunning shots just waiting to be captured. Watching Amber & Tyler together was wonderful because they were so visibly in love; I barely had to direct them at all. I was definitely in my happy place at Cache Creek.

I totally fell in love with Louise and David…they are such an amazing couple. I had an unusually sunny day to document their wedding ceremony at Brew Creek Lodge, and cried like a baby during their vows. Thank goodness I have a couple auto-focus cameras! After a champagne toast, many hugs and happy tears, Louise & David escaped to a private little picnic for a little quality one on one time. It was a wonderful little interlude in an action packed, exciting day.

I had the privilege of driving up to Cache Creek this September to photograph Amber & Tyler’s wedding. I’ve never really spent time in that area of BC, but wow was the scenery ever phenomenal! My assistant and I arrived a day early to scout out the place and while we were photographing the front entrance, we were ambushed by a dirt biker! Right then I knew this was going to be a fun wedding. There are too many great images to show at once, so I am posting a collection of shots that “set the scene” from the wedding rehearsal. I will post the “real” shots next week.

Garry & Gemma recently moved to Canada with a handful of family & friends from England and decided to have their sweet & intimate little ceremony at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. With the tall trees and late afternoon sunlight, it was a spectacular way to show off British Colombia…it made me proud to live on the North Shore. While the wedding was all about embracing their new home in West Vancouver, I though they might appreciate a little snippet of England…so we had Gemma arrive to the ceremony with style in a fabulous vintage Rolls Royce. It was the perfect little touch to an unforgettable day.

What a way to finish the summer! These two childhood sweet-hearts had the most beautiful & sunny backyard wedding surrounded by the most fabulous family and friends. I think I giggled through the entire bridal party photo shoot….they were so much mun to be around and really hammed it up for the camera. When we returned to the reception, everyone was having a fantastic time and I laughed so hard during the speeches I cried! I left Laura & Jay’s wedding with a smile on my face and a spring in my step.

Masaki and Akiko are the sweetest couple and I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of their intimate little ceremony in the gardens of Stanley Park. They were wonderful to work with and I took them to one of my favorite locations (under the lighthouse) after we experimented with a few new spots in the park. I am really into trees these days…I love the way light filters through the leaves and the way they play on my depth of field. I have to say, the shot with Masaki and Akiko under the little Japanese maple tree is one of my all-time favorites.

What a wonderful family! Sue, her husband, and her two children were visiting Vancouver from out East and decided to celebrate their holiday with a family photo shoot. Since capturing her family on camera has been a passion of Sue’s for quite some time, the entire family was used to being photographed and appeared very relaxed and comfortable in front of my lens. They were an absolute dream to photograph!
