It was wonderful to witness how Leoni & Brian balanced traditions from the Philippines and North America on their wedding day. Not only was it a merging of families, but also a merging of cultures…and they did a beautiful job incorporating and including elements of each throughout the day. There were so many photographic opportunities, it was ridiculous…I had a really difficult time deciding which shots to include on my blog!
After taking his portrait earlier in the summer, Dr. Chris Power decided that we had to do a photo shoot of him and his daughter Mary. So….we went to a park near their home in Whistler and went on a photographic adventure. Mary was extremely outgoing and energetic, so there was no posing what so ever….I was just along for the ride!
This is my happy place where I like to go in the summer….Dog River, Alabama. I spent 5 blissful days this August lying in a hammock, reading a book, listening to wind chimes and watching fish jump out of the river. Just thought I’d share a bit of this peace with y’all.
I decided to give all of my expensive gear a break from the humidity and brought down an arsenal of toy cameras to play with instead. They added such a care free element to my shooting…a fantastic feeling to just let go of technical control & allow room for “happy accidents.”
Jessica & Jeff’s Wedding was undeniably one of the most casual and laid back weddings of the year…yet the entire day was filled with excitement & joy. No stress. No pretensions. Every one was there to have a good time, and that they did! I have to admit…when I was looking through the proofs from the ceremony; I started crying all over again. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple smile or make as much eye contact with each other during their vows. It was beautiful to see.
